I'm not a big fan of the Pimsleur method as it tends to move too slow, with limited vocabulary and little grammar explanation. However, one thing they do exceptionally well is pronunciation. I think Pimsleur has some of the clearest audio I've ever heard. I'm wondering how many Pimsleur lessons would it take to cover all the possible sounds (phonemes) in a language. Do you think it would take ten, thirty or the full ninety lessons ?

It probably depends on what words they introduce. The phonemes aren't the only thing that matters anyway, I hope you've seen LaughingChimp's posts.
In practical terms, if you want to do Pimsleur for pronunciation, I think the only way is to just start and keep doing them till you feel confident enough about your pronunciation.
