I've uploaded the progress so far onto a personal web server of mine (for lack of a better place to put it). When the entire course is formatted correctly, we can look
at a more appropriate place for it (and perhaps other courses I or others decide to do).
You can access this here: http://110.142.244.44
You'll find FSI.Swedish.Basic.Course.txt with:
Table of Contents
Preface
To the Student
To the Teacher
Explanation of Grammatical Terms
A Guide to Endings and Symbols
A Guide to Swedish Pronunciation
Unit 1 - Getting Around
Bibliography
Also, a folder called "unprocessed", which has the rest of the chapters in it, the word list, and the grammar index.
If you'd like to help, post a reply to this thread letting us know what chapter you are doing, grab the chapter from the unprocessed folder, format the content of that .txt file to reflect the PDF (you
can find that here: http://fsi-language-courses.org/Courses/Swedish/Basic/FSI%20 -%20Swedish%20Basic%20Course%20-%20Student%20Text.pdf) and then email me the formatted .txt file to
robert_tickner@hotmail.com.
Regardless of if others jump on the bandwagon with this, I'll be formatting this course as I work through it in my study of Swedish (the reformatting provides a great opportunity for revision). So you
should see more of the course formatting completed over the next few weeks. If you want to just jump in and give a hand with a chapter, might be best to start from the end and work backwards.

There are some minor misses (an Å became Ä in the pronuncion section and I saw citron (lemon) spelled cifron) but
it looks really good!

Thanks for your feedback Hampie! I've gone through and fixed up the errors you've
mentioned.

hi,
I did some OCR and formating for the Russian DLI and FSI documents:
check: The Yojik Website
I just OCRED the DLI BASIC Russian grammars and exercises (teacher and student part).
They need heavy control and reformating so, it will take some time.
I'll post here as soon as they are ready.
Eric

Hi Eric,
I took a look at your site, you have some good content there.
Ideally, when finished, the best place for these reformatted documents would be on the
original fsi-language-courses.org website - primarily because it's the place people go
to get these courses, and it's at the top of most search engine result listings when
one searches for "FSI".
I've contacted the administrator of the FSI website - waiting for a response at this
stage.
Thanks,
Rob.

There is a 3-years-old HTLAL thread called "DLI Links" that may still be relevant, and
useful for some people.

Hi Rob,
I tend to lurk rather than post on this forum, but just wanted to say thanks for doing this. I'm also just starting FSI Swedish and have been trying unsuccessfully to shrink the huge PDF file size so I can use it on a Kindle. OCR'ed files will be a godsend for me.
