I know most of you out there have a strong opinion about Pimsleur (one way or another). Anyhow, they e-mailed me
today to announce that they now (FINALLY!) have a basic 30 unit course in Finnish.

It is only available in mp3 right now and soon to be released in CD format.

Thanks for letting us know. I personally really like Pimsleur and I debated between Finnish and Hungarian. I guess it is going to be Finnish.

Do you know that Pimsleur also have a Hungarian 30 lessons course?

Yes, I did. My interest in visiting Finland is higher, than learning Hungarian. The Pimsleur program will be enough to get get started with a good pronunciation.

I listened to the free sample of the first lesson, and it was fairly good. I realized a pronunciation error I had been making though I've been speaking the language for a long time. I was surprised at the use of the formal you, though. Yes, that's what is done with Pimsleur lessons. While it is a good policy to err on the side of politeness, not once in any real conversations I had in Finland was the Te-form used.
