I suppose all the info is somewhere on their website, but maybe
we can get a good answer from you since you're there now.
For which levels do they arrange courses? Total beginners? "Advanced" learners? Is it
easy/possible to change group if the tempo/level is to high/low? My active Irish is
close to zero, and my passive only slightly better, but I once went through the whole
Linguaphone course, I've done TY Irish at some point, I've been a member of an Irish
language mailing list and so on.
Did you start "from scratch" at the beginning of your 8 months? What was your level (if
applicable) when you attended the course last week? |

I'm going to write a detailed review of the school when the week is over as I have a
lot to say about the way they've organized the levels and so on. The levels are a bit
all over the place. Check back to my blog in a week or two and I'll give you a thorough
explanation on what the course is like.
I did start completely from scratch back in early January; I didn't have a single bit
of Irish.
I've learned a lot but the best thing I'll take away from here is contacts. I've made a
heap of friends from all levels who are keen to continue Irish practice with me via
Skype.

This is exactly the sort of thing I want to do someday (that, and study some Irish flute)! I would be interested in reading what you've been doing to study up till now. I actually "started" around the same time you did but I've shoved Irish to the side so much for French and Spanish because it was just so much harder and I could make much faster progress in Spanish so my level is pretty nil right now. So the fact that you have a good level of listening comprehension and can manage conversation puts me to shame (and for the moment actual listening comprehension seems like a far off dream). <s>If you've already typed something up or have a log I'd love to read it, if not definitely consider doing so.</s> Just noticed your blog. I actually ran across it a while ago, don't remember how, but I couldn't really follow it as I had spotty internet access. If only I did I may have been more driven to try harder seeing your progress. This and the job interview I got for mentioning Irish are motivating me to work on it more regularly.
