Cristina, there are a number of native-English speakers on this Forum who don't write or spell nearly as well as you do. In fact, you write very well. When language learners "learn" from this Forum, or practically anywhere else in this world, in English or in any other language, they take their chances, even when reading native writers. And in this ever-increasingly-multilingual world, coping with various levels of good writing and spelling is becoming more challenging. But it is also remarkable what a high standard exists, especially here on this Forum. To everyone: keep up the excellent work. You are setting a very high standard.

Christina, you are the heart and soul of this forum. You are a big part of what makes it a nice place to visit. Any spelling errors you may make are far outweighed by your valuable contributions.
If the spelling is bothering you I would suggest that you could compose your posts in Word or Open Office. Set the spell checker to English. Correct any errors and then post it to the forum. Still, I wouldn't worry too much. It's what you say that matters! Keep posting, my dear!

You have nothing to be sorry for.
"If you can't spell it, don't write it" is a style of thought, and a reminder to write well; it's a motto. If it were an ironclad rule, this forum would have no active regular posters.
Subjectively, I'm a picky native English speaker and I almost never notice mistakes in your writing - and my own writing probably contains at least as many errors as yours does.
Keep your head up, and listen to Arekkusu.
Edit: as for content, your posts are usually interesting and informative. You add both warmth and experience to the forum.

Christina, you write better English than the majority of native speakers, most of whom mix up "complement" and "compliment" at least occasionally (and in my experience, a rather large number of them are not even aware that "complement" and "compliment" are different words). I always like reading your posts, and your encouraging attitude and achievements with languages are inspiring. :-)

Arekkusu is right - ignore it. There are plenty of native speakers here and especially
elsewhere who do not write half as well as you do, and you should not let the words of
one person of indeterminate skill or intelligence level weigh on your mind like that.
About anything. Ever.

And that's exactly it. Some people can't stand seeing other people being liked and/or
feeling good about themselves without trying to bring them down a notch. Unfortunately,
this one knew how to hit a sensitive spot. Because of your history, telling you to just
forget about it and move on it's easier said than done. In the meantime, just go on as
you normally would and just let time do its thing.
