A bit of advice.
Christina - stop being so sensitive.
Guy who doesn't like Christina's English - STOP SMOKING CRACK! Jesus, how good does somebody's typing need to be for you not to be confused?

Cristina, I always enjoy reading your posts and I wasn't even aware of any spelling issues. I find the whole
Scandinavian attitude towards languages fascinating and you provide an insight into that mindset. Native
English speakers are hardly immune to making spelling errors, such is the haphazard nature of the
orthography. Even people who are pernickety about these matters are not infallible, we all have mental
blocks about certain words.
Another thing to your credit is the fact that you have embraced your dyslexia and made efforts to overcome it.
Some people with this condition use it as an excuse to hide behind.

The simple fact that you took the time to come here and apologise (when there was no need to) speaks for itself.
You are one of the reasons why I keep coming here. And, I believe, many others.

Do we even have people who are still learning English? I mean obviously you shouldn't ever stop, but the way I see it, the rule is more against lazy spelling than for taking care of the poor non-natives who might not understand. Even if a non-native here is still intermediate or so, he/she already uses the Internet.
Besides, a non-native is more likely to know the word compliment than complement, so while theoretically this might be confusing, a mistake of a fellow non-native is usually easier to understand than to make sense of "there car broke" and other native mistakes.

What a big deal! Don't bother, you're not a candy for everyone to like.

Really?!? I make typos all the time and no one has ever written to tell me! Maybe it's just jealousy. |
|

I'm suprised too. I can't say that I have spotted more typos in Sofrid Cristin's posts than in everybody else's. |

I wish anyone corrected my early Portunhol messages.
I actually think he secretly likes Christin.

Christina,
Your posts are always helpful and inspiring.
I generally notice most spelling errors in texts that I read because I am maybe a little
too analytical. That being said, I read your post quickly and didn't notice the spelling
issues until I had very carefully read the text twice. I would not worry about such
things as the value you provide to our community far outweighs the disheartening feedback
you received.
Try not to waste so much good study time on someone who is focusing his/her efforts on
the wrong things.
