I am from England but I think that most dialects of
"England English" sounds very grating.

RP sounds unnecessarily upper class and distant.

Cockney/Estuary English sounds very irritating like the speaker is trying too hard to be cool...The Yorkshire accent sounds a bit dumb at times..

A lot of Northern England accents in general sound aggressive and uneducated.
The West Country accent sounds dumb and very "rustic".

This post will no doubt annoy some people...

Yep, you can count me as one who is annoyed and I am not English. You are entitled to your own opinions but if you hold these types of opinions, why go out of your way to offend people?

It's one thing to say that you do not like a particular accent and another thing entirely to extrapolate someone's regional accent into a judgment on intelligence. You have placed your own value judgments upon your fellow countrymen's accents and on your fellow countrymen themselves by proxy.

This is your second post? This is not a good way to start out your membership on one of the most diverse and civil forums on the internet. We don't take kindly to trolling.

In fact, I would speculate that the stereotype of English people being unfriendly and aloof comes from the fact that so many English accents sound rather unendearing and create the impression of unfriendliness and distance.
Lol, no way. The closest possibility is that they're a bit hard to understand without enough exposure.
Also no need to say this in a topic about the most beautiful language. There are also topics about the one you like least.

Tuscan Italian
Stavanger Norwegian
Baiano and Capixaba Brazilian Portuguese
Bavarian German
Brabantian Belgian Dutch
Porteño Argentine Spanish
St. John's Canadian English
Dublin Irish English
Geordie British English

Every language has some nice accents and some horrible ones,
so we should specify the dialect/variant.

I love all variants of Finnish :P
I don't like it when people write it as if it was English, though. (I mean the compounds mostly)
