So I posted a few weeks ago asking for input on my plan of attack as far as studying Japanese goes. Since then
I've gotten mildly tired of Japanese textbooks (meanwhile I'm looking looking longingly at one of my German
textbooks as I type this) but am still very interested in learning Japanese. I've also since gotten a few more books
including a very interesting looking vocabulary book called
Konichiwa
Nihongo
and reading book that is higher than my current level of knowledge called
Yomu Training.

At this point I think i need ideas or tips on how to study japanese without any textbooks (in the strictest
definition of the word). That said I still do want to get a good grasp of grammar, and I do really thrive when given
exercises. I do talk to people in Japan over Skype a few times a week (whenever we're online at the same time)
but that's about the only exposure to Japanese I get from a native/real world source.

Would the best thing for me to do at this point be keep putting in words and sentences into Anki and start
reading. Of course then I would have to find simple accessible japanese to read but that's another question.

How about podcasts like Japanesepod101.com? I really enjoyed them and they gave me a pretty good grasps of the spoken language right from the start.
