Hi,

I'm not finding any Portuguese topics here, am I the only one interested?

I'm an intermediate Brazilian Portuguese student, so if there are any topics posted, point me to them, thanks.

Patrick

Portuguese fascinates me. It's the next language on my hit-list.

@pathardy, Bem-vindo ao forum! Welcome to the forum! Portuguese comes up as a topic every now and then. There are several Brazilians active on the forum and a Portuguese Thread where you can post in Portuguese.

There were a couple of threads within the past month asking about it. Most are newbie questions, "should I learn Portuguese or Spanish?", "what are good resources?", etc. Portuguese, unfortunately, is not as popular a language amongst members as Spanish or French, or it seems- Georgian(!), for example, but there are a few of us here.

Since you're new, you may not be aware of how the search feature works. Click "Search" then "G-Search" and enter your terms. You will see several threads relating to Portuguese, though most will likely not address specific aspects of the language. If you are interested about a topic in Portuguese or have a question, just post it in the appropriate forum section- whatever that may be depending on the topic, and I'm sure you will get a response.

There are some threads out there on Portuguese, you just have to search for them.
Portuguese is on my to-do list and hopefully not too far in the future once I can get to
a comfortable enough level with my Spanish to where I won't confuse the two.

I've been studying Portuguese for a little over four months now, and I love the language. Even though I'm a native Spanish speaker, I'm finding that the two languages are a little more different than people often credit them to be. It's a rewarding language to learn. :)

It is, though (and sadly), not as popular as Spanish, French, or Italian, at least where I live.

I'm interested in Portuguese as well; specifically, the Brazilian variety. Even before I
became interested in languages, I was strangely always drawn to Brazil-especially its
music traditions.

I've only been studying it for 2 weeks now but I'm moving rather fast as unlike previous
times, it's the only language that I'm actively studying at the moment.

It's definitely a language I find fun to engage in both in listening and speaking and the
Brazilian spirit is nothing short of infectious.
