I'm more interested in the audio dialogs than anything - I have a 15 minute drive to work, and I like to have audio that requires my response in order to eliminate my just tuning out. I've just completed Assimil, and I'm looking for more dialogs like that.
I think I'll give it a go. I can always flog it off on e-bay if I don't like it.
;-)

What about the Living Language Ultimate series? I haven't tried any of their courses myself, but they come with a
separate set of CDs to use on the go.

I'm sure it will be useful for that purpose. I would actually recommend the Living Language Ultimate series also if
all you're looking for is extra dialog practice....

About the Russian one, I've bought it on Amazon a few weeks ago and I think it's a very solid course for a beginner (tons of words to learn, interesting content, a very interesting, neat grammar section etc.). What bugs me at the moment is the fact I can't find the audio anywhere! After having tried to hunt it down for some days (without any success), I wrote to Cortina and they responded to me as follows:
Quote:
Thank you for your interest!
We do not have the audio component for Russian in 20 Lessons, nor do we carry the text itself any longer – so if you can find it on Amazon, so much the better.

Very disappointing. :( Does anyone have the slightest idea where I can find it? It would be so nice to shadow this course along with Linguaphone and Assimil.

Hmm, the preview on Amazon makes it look like quite a bit is packed into the Russian
course. And it seems I could get it for around $10. But, I don't want to acquire just to
acquire. Does anyone have experience with this and think it would provide something that
can't be found in the Penguin Course or the new Assimil?
