Hi guys,
bit of background, I've been studying Russian for a year now, and after completing
Pimsleur, most of Michel Thomas (currently finishing the vocab course), and after some
one on one tuition, ive started picking up the Russian Newspapers. Living in London
it's pretty easy to pick these up.
My question now, is how do I go about reading these newspapers, and understanding the
new words? Is it a case of translating every new word? Or just a percentage? Making
word lists for new words? Im sorry if this topic is covered often, Im just really
looking at breaking through some more progress in this language now.
All help appreciated
Lee

Do what you can also do with books. Translate ALL words (that you aren't a 100 % sure of)
in the first paragraph, translate all words in paragraph 2, some in paragraph 3 etc. The
writer is bound to repeat himself, besides you will have remembered some from the first
paragraph.
Why not visit some Russian restaurants or find native speakers?
I have struggled with Russian now for about 5 months, am still on level A2, and I can't
imagine doing any of it if I wasn't currently living in Russia.
