This might seem like an unorthodox way to learn vocabulary, but it works! I recently found this point-and-click
game that was originally from Radio Canada's site, so it is all in French. Here's the link (note that the link is for
the newest and last episode in the series):
http://www.divertissez-vous.com/jeux-gratuits-flash/aventure -jeux-de-roles/1689/cauchemars-les-
aventures-5.php
(omit the spaces in the URL - the one after "aventure" and the one after "cauchemars-les-")
The title of the series is "Cauchemars, les aventures". Basically, there's this little boy who has recurrent
nightmares, and in order to "defeat" them he has to solve several puzzles that will help him get out of them. If he
messes up too many times within the game, he wakes up crying and you have to start over. I messed up 3
times/had the guy wake up crying 3 times before I solved it. :P I personally didn't find any new vocabulary words
within the game (though I did have to look up "l'hurluberlue" in the title), but it was a pretty good refresher since
I don't use French very often in my daily life. I'm interested to see what you guys think of the game. I don't think
the game itself is *too* difficult, so technically someone who doesn't know any French would be able to solve it,
but the narrator in the background occasionally does give a few helpful tips when you make a mistake.
What do you think? :)

I often play multiplayer online games where you have to draw and guess random words. Not only it forces me to think through all of my vocabulary, but I also learn new words just by reading what the other players write in the attempt to guess. Besides, you also get to chat during the game
