Searching the web for "learn Bulgarian online" should give you enough courses to choose from.
Also, there is http://www.forvo.com/ for pronounciation

I always find that getting a good dictionary and some music I like, then translating it
and memorizing some of the more common/important vocabulary helps a lot when I start a
new language. Obviously it's no silver bullet, but it can inject some fun into the
drudgery that is vocabulary memorization. It also helps you learn through context.
Ask your wife who her favourite artists are, or just Google things like "Bulgarian rap"
or "good Bulgarian music" (in either English or Bulgarian). While Teach Yourself and
Colloquial can help you get a basic level, I personally find this is method is far
faster and more efficient.

DLI stands for Defense Language Institute. They teach languages to US military. Here is a website where you can download a lot of their courses, including Bulgarian.

How about watching some Bulgarian television series or movies? Plenty of different ones are on youtube and I
don't think that it'd be too hard to find some with English subtitles either. If you can't, maybe you could watch
them with your wife and she could translate for you :D

Hi Jody, hello everyone. I study Bulgarian language too. So I'd like to recommend the
various audio courses and watching Bulgarian television. I periodically watch
http://bolgarskij-jazyk.ru/video.html Bulgarian movies here</a> or English movies with
Bulgarian subtitles. It seems this is Russian website but there are many resources for
learning of the Bulgarian language - audio, books, Bulgarian news websites, television
channels etc. It has English version. I hope it will help you. Good luck!
