As others have said, at this level there really aren't any methods that will hold your
hand all the way to the next level. It's all about tons of exposure and practice with some targeted work with some materials on the side to help you improve. Thus you'll probably go for long stretches where you feel like you aren't making any progress but you really are. I have Alter Ego 5, which Cavesa mentioned (which technically is supposed to be good for C2 level, but well, that's more just preparation for the C2 DALF). It's pretty decent as all the materials it uses as a base for its exercises are taken from authentic native French sources but it's just a companion, not a replacement for time spent getting exposure and practice which is what really brings you up to C1-C2. One book to add to the others: Expression et Style which features all the little connectors and ways to express the relationship of ideas and clauses. It's marked for B2-C1. And vocabulary is pretty important at this stage. Grammar is finite and just needs to be practiced but vocabulary seems to go on forever, especially when you need to start learning register. 1 person has voted this message useful |
