Hello everyone! I'm a PhD student at the University of Cambridge looking at language
learning and the development of teaching methodologies. I would hugely appreciate if you
could help me in my research. I have setup an online experiment. It only takes max 30
minutes, and involves reading sentences in English and making simple decisions. I would
be happy to discuss it/summarise the objectives and current findings afterwards or
privately. I would absolutely hugely appreciate if someone could do the experiment. It's
for good cause! It may be found here: http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~awp23/
Thank you for your consideration and I am hoping to get in touch with you about it.
Best wishes,
A.

Hi, I just tried to take your survey, and found it too confusing to complete. For instance, the first question reads:
"Experts propose measures to POWTER the role of philanthropy in raising funds for research through foundations, trusts and charities."
And I'm supposed to guess whether the word "POWTER" means "making more of" or "making less of"? Sorry, I have no idea how to respond to that.

Thank you so much for your interest! Please don't be discouraged. It basically means
whether "powter" means to increase or to decrease something. It can feel a little
strange, it's a very intuitive task... but when we learn languages we do not feel secure,
do we? I will be happy to share the idea behind it privately, afterwards, not to spoil
it. Thanks so much again for your interest!

DocCam, I am sending you a PM (so as not to possibly spoil it for others).
