My apologies for not replying sooner, I just finished up my last paper of university
today. What a nice feeling, haha.

Anyway, they did not deduct VAT. According to this site:

I think that's for importing from outside the EU to Ireland. You're importing from France/EU to the United States, so
I don't think those rules are relevant.

I guess that is what I get for trying to be helpful in a hurry and googling without
being specific enough, haha.

Either way, I had to pay the full price, so...yeah.
