Hello everyone,

Something that I've been wondering for awhile, is there any difference between old Without Toil courses and the years they were published?

I've heard that all Without Toils have the same dialogues but different comics and that they were just re-printed every few years.

For example, if I have the audio for say, the 1949 Spanish course, would the 1957 book work with it?

Thanks.

There are a few small differences such as in prices (reflecting inflation), but nothing
too important.

The audio is compatible with all printings - although Assimil re-recorded the audio a number of time too (I
have a set of 50s 78s and 1970s 45s for French WT and the 45s are spoken at a noticeably faster pace).

Yes, I have two versions of the French and two versions of the German recordings. I have my favourites.

The recordings reflect the changes in the books, the cost of items and the size of tips that are given. You can use the same audio for both books without any difficulty. I was well into my Spanish course before I noticed the old book had different prices in the text to the recording. No big deal.

I prefer the 45 discs as they waste less time although not all of the exercises are recorded because of limited time available.
