Kindle, Touch, Fire, Nook ... or iPad?

I've read dozens of reviews, and seen scattered opinions on HTLAL, but I still can't
figure out which one is ideal from a language-learning perspective. I have a regular
Kindle, it's been liberating, but now that I'm reading more and more in foreign
languages I'm running into its limitations & am thinking of an upgrade.

I think I spend half my time toggling, especially in difficult passages. Does a touch
screen make it easier to look up words, or switch between texts? The Kindle gets
especially cumbersome if I want to cross reference a passage with an English
translation.

And, how do these new eReaders handle pdf's? They're pretty much useless on a kindle,
and I would love to be able to download and use courses like FSI on a device.

With regard to reading pdf's on a kindle, I just put on reading glasses and do not have
much of a problem.

In addition to what you have asked, I would like to know what Spanish dictionaries
everybody is using.

Nook's are good with pdf's. I've uploaded a few to mine! Also, there are ways to convert
formats online, so getting a Nook wouldn't limit you from using things you buy on Amazon,
etc...
