Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew of any video series for other languages such as Italian that are like FIA and Fokus. I figure that since there are video series for French and German, there must be some for other languages.

Thanks.

Have you already checked out In Italia and Cantieri d’Italia?

Cantieri d’Italia has 42 lessons.
In Italia is now in its fourth season (they are also broadcast on tv) for a total of 80 episodes.

They are both joint projects of the government and the national broadcaster RAI and are first and foremost designed to help immigrants learn the language. They are completely in Italian and apart from the videos they also offer other nice features like transcripts, exercises etc.

A shorter video course is L’italiano in famiglia. It has now two levels: 20 lessons for the first one and 15 for the second one.

A couple of years ago I wrote more about two of these courses in this post. The post is not up-to-date now, as the courses are now longer, but maybe you can still find helpful information there.

I know they are not exactly like FIA or Fokus, but I hope you’ll find them useful anyway.

Thanks Emme, these should keep me busy for a wee while! I think I remember reading your
original post about these series, long before I started Italian, so I had completely
forgotten.
