I'm looking for a program for building up foreign language vocabulary. I need a program
where I would edit in my own vocabulary, because it's primarily for dead languages such
as Old English, Old Icelandic, Latin, etc.

The best description I can give of what I'm looking for is a program which would
essentially be like flashcards where the program would present a lexeme and then after
I could check the definition and other grammatical information.

Thus far, I've only been able to find various very poor programs with built in
vocabulary for languages like German and Spanish for learning simple things like
numbers, names of days, and other elementary things. This is not what I'm looking for.

If you know of anything, I would be extremely appreciative.

Thanks,

Sinfjötli

Although I haven't used it myself I'm pretty sure anki fulfills what you need. It uses spaced repetition to help
you remember vocab and I believe it's free on the computer (they also have a iPhone version, but it costs
$29.99 here in Canada). The program is quite popular with members of this forum, but since I haven't
personally used it I can't guarantee the effectiveness of it. Good luck

hi,

you could use the shtooka-repeater: http://shtooka.net/soft/shtooka_repeat/en/

it's free !

If you could add some vocabulary with sounds and translations, it would be great :)

It's a community work.
