Since I am not a very religious person I do not often indulge in prayers, but since I feel this has been a near
death experience, I will make an exception. Like most atheists, I tend to fold my hands in prayer, when I am
scared enough, and so many people have described the sense of shock and loss they felt when this site was
down, that it is appropriate.
Thank you Lord, for returning this site to us.
Thank you for having given your servant the Admin the knowledge to fix it.
Thank you for giving Julie and emk both the knowledge and the presence of mind to create a shelter for all
Your lost language sheep.
Thank you that you have given us a strong sense of community spirit, so that we in the hour of need could
come together, help and support each other and be there for each other.
Please Lord, let this not happen again.
Give the Admin the will to be close to all your children of the languages on Earth, and save and keep him and
let him mingle with all us lost sheep, and listen to our prayers.
Keep all our dear moderators safe and in good health and all our members in good spirit and let them speak
with joy, and madness and frivolity and sageness - all mixed together.
Keep all our language logs and TAC teams safe and together, and let us not be scared like this again.
Amen.

Amen to that!
I'm also so happy and thankful to have the good ol' forum back! Let's hope an attack like this won't happen again.
But it was good to see that the community spirit couldn't be intimidated. I wonder if another internet community has ever created a temporary forum, because the original forum didn't work. I guess we're all a bunch of addicts and lunatics, but I'm happy to be back with all the other language nerds!
Let us never be seperated again! ;)

Another amen from me!
I am glad the forum is back and I pray it stays around, but for the first time I am considering being more active in other forums like Unilang and Fluentin3months and also staring a blog as a backup.
I hope the previous sentence is not evidence of a lack of faith on my part but I really, really don't want to lose my logs and have no place to discuss languages.

If you're an atheist, who's this "Lord" you're refering to? Norway is of course a kingdom, but still, I'm not sure Harald V is to be thanked for HTLAL being back!

Now we only have to translate this prayer into our target languages. That's what I call a challenge! :)

Did you get the "exception" part?:-)
We have among others:
- The Lord of the Rings
- The Lord of the Flies
- The Dark Lord
- The Good Lord Above - among gardeners known as "The Head Gardener"
Give it your best shot.

Given that I'm the most irreligious person on this planet, I won't be taking on that
challenge - but I'm glad we're back to having this place work
