I think my exercise regime and crafts (knitting, sewing, drawing) have suffered immensely in the past few months. I must re-dress this and create some equilibrium in my interests, something I'm dreadful at achieveing!

Sometimes I think that I make no sacrifices to learn languages, but maybe I have. I haven't traveled anywhere since 2008 and I used to ride my bike and play basketball more often too.

I learnt how to stop wasting my time. I deactivated Facebook and took my television out of my bedroom!

Nothing.
I'm on my summer holiday so I really have to much time for my own good.

What sacrifices are you making, or have you made, in order to learn your TL? I have pretty much given up listening to music, and reading books in English, both activities I love. |

When I began studying another language, I had no idea it was going to take over my life. The things I've dropped in favor of language learning were things that were getting in the way, not sacrifices. And trust me, I've chopped a lot of chaff out of my life to make room for language study.
But you know what? I think it's also important to spend some time each day doing stuff that's fun, but specifically not TL related. No matter how much you love languages, you need to mix it up a little, and blow off steam. Let the things you've studied rattle around in the back of your brain for a little while.
