Hi everyone!

I've decided to log my French learning! I just started learning French a couple of days
ago. I'll be going through Assimil New French With Ease, Living French and Michel
Thomas. I also have Schaum's French Grammar outline - but not sure when to incorporate
this into my learning - perhaps when I've finished the above courses I'll go through
it. Bad idea?

In a few months, depending on how well I do, I'll take a trip to Paris for a weekend
and see how I get on.

So far, I've gone through CD1 of Michel Thomas's Basic French. I liked Michel Thomas
for Spanish, but I'm finding it more difficult in French because I have no idea how
things are spelled.

Good luck. I will follow your log. I have been thinking about starting French for a long time. I have been studying Spanish for a few years now so I am very interested to see how much easier you find French after studying Spanish.

What I've noticed so far just from some preliminary scanning of books to see what French
looks like, is that everything is instantly recognizable. I don't understand any grammar
or verb forms etc. but I can see that most words I already know in either it's English or
Spanish form. I think Spanish will make it easier.
