I have made a commitment to learning Spanish, one of my main motivations is to talk to my boyfriend in his native language instead of speaking English to me all the time. My other reasons is that his family only speaks Spanish, and I really enjoy the culture. It will be a long, interesting road filled with frustrations and excitement-but hopefully more excitement.
I have two books with audio called "Mastering Spanish Vocabulary" by the Barron's Foreign Language Guides and "Living in Spanish" A grammer-based course book. I also have Collins easy learning Spanish Grammer and Verbs, Essential Spanish Vocabulary and an Oxford essential Spanish Dictionary.
I am also listening to movies in Spanish as well as Spanish music so I can get used to pronuciation...I know this probably sounds silly when I don't have a broad understanding yet but learning how they sound is a good start. I plan on using the practice excersies in the books while watching a movie or listening to music in my target language.
My main plan is to get a basic base going in grammer then build it up with vocabulary over time.
Any comments/tips/advice are welcomed. :)
