I think Anki used properly is the opposite of hoarding. When you buy a language book it is comforting and you tell yourself that one day soon you will start using it. After a while you buy another one and then they build up on the bookshelves mainly unread. But with Anki you are forced to study everyday. Your cards don’t take up any room and once your deck is mature you probably don’t even need to look at most of the cards again.
