Hello everyone
I just saw a book recommended on another thread called: "Speaking Better French, The Key
Words and Expressions You'll Need Every Day"
I had a look at it on Amazon and I was quite impressed. The expressions look good,
relevant and easy to remember. It reminded me a bit of some sections of 'Breaking Out of
Beginner's Spanish', a book I'm a big fan of.
Does anyone know of any books similar to this for other languages?

It is indeed a very good book - I'll just point out that Rosenthal has written two
volumes of the key words book (of which the one you cite is vol 1) of it. There is a
combined volume containing both volumes which is better value:

d/dp/1604942479/ref=sr_1_3?
ie=UTF8&qid=1330250301&sr=8-3
His Faux Amis book(s) are also great for the intermediate learner (like me) who often
gets tripped up on false friends:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/French-Faux-Amis-Combined-Book/dp/16 04942207/ref=pd_sim_b_1
(this is the combined volume of the 3 Faux Amis volumes)
