You language list is impressive! What is your long-term schedule for it?
And I must say I admire your passion for learning vocabulary, I could do with a bit more of it :-) I just have a feeling you are focusing only on the vocabulary or perhaps it is just a bad impression from reading your log too fast. 1.I study a bit of vocabulary to understand some structures (like the prefix , suffix and root of words etc...) . 2.I study grammar like speak with a person without the grammar it's not natural. Example : If I say "you laugh ?" so then the correct phrase is "do you are laughing ?" , we can to have a big problem of communication. 3.The pronunciation , if we have a problem of pronunciation it's not a problem if we can to understand you. Ah, sorry if I was misunderstood. I wasn't suggesting grammar should not be studied, I
meant the opposite. I was interested in how do you study it. Do you use classical grammar books? Or the 10000 sentences method? Or just a lot of input? Do you learn each separately or do you work with comparisons and are learning paralelly somehow? And surely the pronunciation is very important. How do you study it? I cannot imagine myself studying pronunciation of so many languages at once, does comparison in between them help? 1 person has voted this message useful | |

About studying pronunciation I learned the IPA. When I want to learn a sound I look informations about how to pronunce this in read a document about this phonem. Example you want to learn the consonant /v v of volt in English , you need to know that the name of this consonant is "Voiced labiodental fricative" in English. Now a article in your language about /v : http://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zn%C4%9Bl%C3%A1_labiodent%C3%A1 ln%C3%AD_frikativa. If you know the name of a consonant or vowel you are near to be ready to pronounce this. About the grammar I read texts on internet in the language , books like "for the dummies" in French "pour les nuls" , internet. I learn the grammar separately , I don't use languages comparaisons about the grammar. In your profile I read the next thing , you learn indo-european languages if you know some principes about the grammar of these languages you are advanced.
