Here is a bit about me for those interested to know. My name is Necronos, aka Jeremy,
and I am currently learning Spanish (and will continue for the foreseeable future) I'm from Ireland. I live in Idaho. I'm married with kids. I work in a prison. I'm world famous for my pancakes. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis. I wear a size US13 shoe. I caught up on the Pimsleur reading that I needed to do, and I repeated Pimsleur Spanish
I Lesson 9 again. ¿Cuánto tiempo tiene? was quite a tongue twister for me for some reason 1 person has voted this message useful | |

OFFTOPIC Hi, first of all sorry for my possible mistakes I'm only an intermediate English learner and I would like to post in this great forum as a way to practice the language. I don't know if "butchering" your beautiful language is ok or not here. Sorry beforehand. It seems to me that there are only a few Spanish natives using this fantastic forum and I wonder why. I just wanted to wish you and others Spanish learners good luck with your studies (remember: have fun! :D) and although I'm not a teacher, I would be glad to help or talk with anyone who wants to for free. @camdo2 I'm living in Idaho Falls, so almost as far away as possible from you while
still being in the same state! Thanks for stopping by! @poorenglish You have no need to apologize, your English is very good. I didn't notice any mistakes in your post. I hope to get to the point in my studies that I can converse with you and other native Spanish speakers. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later. Thanks for stopping by! ~~~~ I completed Lesson 10 in Pimsleur Spanish I last night, and re-read a few Spanish grammar lessons before completing 2 new grammar lessons on StudySpanish.com this morning. I'm still working on being tongue tied with ¿Cuánto tiempo tiene? but when I slow it down it is working for me. Quiere is another stumbling block for my tongue... Good luck with your Spanish quest! Be assured that if you keep working with pimsleur,

@dbag thanks for the support! I'm getting better with those tricky phrases... I just keep
repeating them and their variants until I'm not so tied up with them ~~~~ Completed Lesson 11 on Pimsleur Spanish I. Actually did it twice, while driving somewhere and while driving back. Completed Lesson 12 on Pimsleur Spanish I yesterday. I'm taking a new approach with
Pimsleur to see if I can speed up my study and increase my retention. I'm using transcripciones that I 'acquired', and using them to play to my visual learning style. I did this with the last lesson, listened to it while following along with the transcript for the newer stuff. I still relied on memory for the repeating of the older material. I reviewed the notes today, which I'll do everyday for the prior lesson and see if I can improve on my learning. I also went to the library today to see what they had in Spanish books. It looks like I'll be able to get Dr. Seuss in Spanish! This is going to help greatly when the Super Challenge begins. Hopefully I'll graduate up to bigger and more complex books as the challenge, and my fluency, progresses. For now, I'll be happy if I can get through one kid's book without using a dictionary! 1 person has voted this message useful |
