On the temporary forum, I put up a posting with the title "about Francois".
I must admit that after the break, I'd become a little peeved at his lack of visibility
on this site. However, when I bothered to read a bit more about his passion for
languages on the non-forum part of the site (something I'd never bothered to do before,
and that part of the site remained intact after the break), I began to have a lot more
sympathy and empathy with and for him. I could relate to him as a person to some
extent, whereas before he had been an almost anonymous and rarely-seen figure.
Well, I started looking at this other site, FXCuisine.com, and this page for example,
reveals another side to him which he is also passionate about:
http://fxcuisine.com/about-my-kitchen.asp
If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it.
I'm not a "foodie" myself, but I would think that for anyone who is, there is a great
deal of pleasure to be had from meandering through that site. Sadly though, it looks
like he hasn't had time to update that site either, since some time in 2009.
The photo on that page is obviously more recent than the black and white one on this
site, and he looks a lot more relaxed and happy!

I have heard the reason he doesn't come here often is due to the abuse he received from the L-R troll some years
ago (member Id = siomotteikiru, which means something like "live like you are dying"). Is this true?

In case you haven't already, I would really recommend taking a look at FX's various
language logs. There is some really useful and interesting information in them.

Not as far as I know.
I believe that when he started this site all those years ago (as a hobby) he might have been more interested in languages than he is at the moment, but this is just an opinion, not a firm fact.

Not that I've ever heard, and he was already much less active before siomotteikiru showed up.

Posts to FXCuisine seem to have dried up some time in 2009 as well. I assume that at
around that time his business began to occupy more of his time.
