Please see my posting at message number 7 in this thread:
PBO format and Aglona Reader
It's about a new (to me) format for parallel texts, PBO - Parallel Books, and a reader for it called Aglona Reader,
available for Windows and Android. A simple download with no install needed.
There are some English-German-Russian (public domain) texts already available, but you can also create your own using
Aglona reader. It's a manual process, but the author, Yanis Batura says that it's relatively easy with Aglona.
Anyway, using Aglona for reading is easy and pleasant. I've only tried the normal mode so far, but there are 2 more
advanced modes, which look interesting. A nice piece of work Yanis Batura. (Are you a member here?)

Yanis has made two additional videos in English to help prepare your own parallel
texts:
Preparing source texts for Aglona
Reader
Aligning Parallel Texts with Aglona
Reader
The first one is a process you have to do to your text files to make sure they are
suitable for Aglona.
That means things like making sure that double hyphens are converted to em-dashes.
He suggests using something like Notepad++ for this.
The second one is editing it to make it properly parallel.
I'm not sure if I've fully understood the process yet, but I guess one gets into it.
There are also Russian versions of these videos - check his channel : Yanis Batura,
and also
Reading parallel books in Aglona
Reader
the basic user guide to Aglona Reader.
If you are reading this Yanis, thank you very much! :-)

What a wonderful program!
But too little amount of books *dreaming of de-en or de-ru Stefan Zweig's books*.
Maybe I'll try to prepare some books of Daphne Du Maurier en-ru, if it'll be not very hard thing to do.

The android version needs to be improved, it's kind of clunky as of yet.

As I don't have an Android device, I haven't seen this for myself.
Might be worth (tactfully! :-) ) giving him some feedback.
I think his email address is on one of those links.
It would be a pity if that version didn't become popular, as I'd think that's where the
potential growth area really is.

I've now prepared 2 German novels in German-English in PBO format.
PM me if interested. (NB I won't answer questions about them here).
