Does anybody have any idea if the French audio on U.S. DVDs is dubbed in Quebec or
France? Obviously, right now, I don't know French, or I'd be able to answer that question myself, but I do know that there is a big difference in pronunciation, and I don't want to get the two mixed up and sound funny. Sometimes, my DVDs mention Quebec. Most of the time, they don't mention anything. I don't really care which pronunciation I learn because I'm mostly learning for the sake of reading the news in French, but, nevertheless, I don't want to get it all mixed up. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

They're usually dubbed in Quebec, but I've found that the pronunciation on dubbed US DVDs sounds somewhere between French and Quebecois. It confused me for a long time! But yeah, even though most are dubbed in Quebec, they don't have a strong, strong Quebec accent like people there usually have.
