Well
I figured I'd start a journal for Hindi even though I am just flirting with it.
Last night I completed 1.1.1 of Rosetta Stone (thats Level 1, Unit 1, Lesson 1).
Before this I watched Salaam-e-Ishq several times as well as some clips on YouTube.
I've also checked out some brief info on the net.
I've also been researching learning materials lately (when am I not!). While they are
harder to find than for other more studied languages there are still plenty out there.
The Teach Yourself stuff done by Rupert Snell seem to be highly regarded both on
Amazon and in this forum. I figure I'll start with his TY Beginners Hindi.
Right now I am just interested in learning about Hindi and some words and phrases.
Understanding Hindi in Bollywood films would be nice as well.

Pimsleur 1; lesson 1: I listened to today in the car driving about. Unlike
Italian, I feel like I have nothing to relate this material to. Pimsleur will be good
to hear and speak the language but I definitely feel like I need something to
explain the language.

A year ago I completed half of "Teach Yourself Beginner's Hindi".
It's been fun discovering the language and I've picked up some words and phrases.
I haven't continued, however. While its a beautiful language it's of limited use to me
and I can't justify to myself putting a lot of time into it. I would, however, like to
finish the beginner book to complete my basic knowledge.
