I was wondering if someone who understands Chinese could help me with something. I want to know what the difference is between these two books offered by Amazon.cn:

Also, I wanted to know whether this book includes the original work A Record of Buddhistic Kingdoms by Fa Xian, or if it is merely a study about either the author or the work. Quite often "Amazon.cn" doesn't provide any detailed information about the edition, the title, the description, the press, the page number, especially the sample page (crucial). Sometimes it really annoys me when I get confused about the unspecified key points I have to find out. Even if "Amazon.cn" provides the above information, it may be possible for the staff to upload some wrong information.
It seems to me the 2 links you referred to actually point towards the same book, IMHO, as a general rule, each annotation edition should certainly include the original article in the book. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

Thanks for your reply! I went ahead and ordered it, but for some unfathomable reason could not process payment. I guess I'll learn instead Japanese after all.
