I know that Assimil tends to be highly thought of after browsing this forum, and I have also found out that I think I will want to have more supplementary material working through Russian. The logical conclusion was to think - does Assimil have a course in any language that I speak well enough for me to learn Russian from?

The answer is pretty short - there is a Dutch version of Assimil "Russisch zonder moeite". Okay. Great, especially since Assimil doesn't have an English version, so Teach Yourself will fill that void for me (for now).

The thing is, is this book worth it? I know the company is generally good, but are the translations well done?

For people who will suggest "use the German or French version" - I'd do that, but I'm not yet comfortable enough in either to pull that off. I speak decent German, but I don't think I am comfortable using it as a base language yet.

I haven't used "Russisch zonder moeite" but I have used the Dutch translation of Using
French and had no complaints about it, even though it was written in Flemish instead of
Dutch. As for as I know, the content of the lessons doesn't differ between versions and
they only translate the first language translations and grammar explanations, sometimes
adding or changing things to better suit speakers of a different base language.
