Hello there.
I have this one friend who's new to language and all that kind of things. And he's going to go to Spain for several months and wants to learn some basic Spanish. And when I mean Spanish, I mean the closest possible to the Spanish that is spoken in Spain with all the accent and pronunciation nuances etc. I had the idea to suggest Michel Thomas Spanish but I don't know whether it teaches the Spanish of Spain or other? And what would be other Spanish courses that teach actually the pronunciation of the Spanish (Castilian) accent?

FSI has a "Headstart for Spain" course.
There's also Pimsleur's "Castilian Spanish" course, but it's only got 30 lessons so far (their main Spanish, i.e. Latin American, course has 120).

Assimil's Spanish with Ease teaches Castilian Spanish.
Michel Thomas teaches Latin American Spanish.

I would bet for Assimil also. Or check whatever method Luca used, he has an outstanding
castilian and neutral accent.
