Hello everyone! I'm just about to start my third language learning, and I would like to
clarify something I have just heard...I've heard the third language can be harder than
the second one, because they all get mixed up, and that your skill in your second
language will probably decrease. Is this true? what is your experience?

Thanks!!!!!

Ps.: I'm doing some research now, so I'm not sure what language I'll be learning yet,
but it will be either Portuguese or French

There will probably be some mixing up, and apparent skill decline, but these are temporary. Plow thru it.

I study French everyday and Italian when I get the time. I am also learning Hungarian and I will be learning Cornish very soon.

I sometimes get mixed up when speeling English when it is simpler to Dutch. For example "work" and "werk" "boat" and "boot".

I sometimes say a Dutch word when speaking English but I do not get mixed up with other languages.
