The bottom line for me is that even if it's good it can't be

Yeah I agree, but if you can get it by other means, then it's worth it. Personally, I
would recommend it over Pimsleur. If you are going to buy Pims, you might as well buy
Fluenz instead (If your language is of the ones they sale).
I would never recommend Rosetta Stone, hell even if it is free, it's not worth it LOL. |

LOL? What's so LOL about that last rather mundane comment? Is it an in-joke? Oh well, I see. It's the
laughter of yet another person who tries to be different only to end up repeating the same
stereotypes all the other wise guys are passing around. Really, I'm a bit tired of those clueless
comments on Rosetta Stone (as opposed to justified and well-informed criticism, mind). How far did
you get into whatever Rosetta Stone course?

I am using Rosetta stone and i am on level 2, i don't know whether it'll make me fluent
or not but it really helps you understand and memorize lot of words and the best part is
whatever i have learned(not the sentences)i can easily recall them out. It's good but not
worth $400
After spending so much time on Rosetta stone it made me more wiser and made me realize
that nothing can beat audio+books method for self teaching.
Grammar is essential when you're a newbie and without basic understanding of X language
you'll never understand it completely.
I have just received my order from flipkart.com , i ordered Living Language:Complete
spanish i spoke to their customer service and they replied me back saying according to
FSI Fluency scale: i could reach L3 fluency if i use it regularly for 1hr everyday.
Hmmmm let's see, wish me luck friends.

L2 is more realistic for that Living Language Course.
I 100% agree with your other comments. I used both v2 and v3 of RS Russian in addition to other courses. However, it is best way for me.
