How to say "well then" in German?

Whenever I look up the meaning, it is always translated as "gut dann". I think that may be a direct translation. The problem Im having is understanding what the Pimsleur German course is saying. they say "? dann". whats the first word? it would be so awesome if they came with a transcript.

I don't know about Pimsleur, but depending on context I might say 'Also' or "Naja' (Or even 'Naja, also..' :) )

Totally true (and I love that essay :D ). I just don't understand why he insists on his "zug"s. There's hardly a word that uses that. At least not in modern German.
