This is a quote from a Japanese penpal of mine who wrote me yesterday:
I think its very difficult for you to remember Japanese letters, because we have 3 letters. I think its harder than one alphabet.
By "3 letters" she means three forms: kanji kana and roumaji

For what it's worth, I don't have to type "jyouyou" in my IME to get 常用. Jouyou works just fine.
I still stand by what I said. I'd figure out a way to get the IME/Skype thing sorted. If for no other reason than for my own practice.

I second that. Get it fixed quickly! Nothing is better than the 本物 including Japanese language.
