When listening to the song "Boten Anna" from Basshunter I recognize the word "Jag" (I in English). Before I had learned to pronounce this word with the German j (I hope everyone speaking Swedish knows what I want to explain). But always when I hear the song it seems as if he would pronounce it "shag" instead of jag. One of my friends who speaks a bit Swedish supposed it to be a dialect from Southern Sweden. Is that really true?

Mhmm, I'm hearing the 'jag' as per normal :/

Might it be that you're hearing the first syllable of 'känner' which is pronounced very
akin to the 'sh' sound in English?

I don't know about you, but this seems to be a question about a rather specific language. Wouldn't it make more sense to put it in the 'specific languages' subforum? But nevermind, I got that sorted.

Anything can happen to sounds due to assimilation (progressive or regressive), aspiration... if you gasp, whisper, breath in or out. It's "jag" but you may hear it differently, and a phonetician may find another IPA symbol. It is not a dialect issue.
