Hello, I have decided to start learning Italian after an amzaing holiday I had there. I am going to use Assimil- Italian with Ease and I have a have a question about the various editions that are available in English.
A French freind of mine gave me his version with French as the base and I wonder if this version is available in English. I will list a few random lessons and see if they match up to anyone who has an English edition,
1- Benvenuto in Italia
26- Piero racconta
50- Saldi, sconti
81- Resti in linea
95- Posso Entrare
Is there an English version of this? Any help would be great

I think this is the newest French version. I don't think it has been released in English yet.

I have the 1991 edition. The lesson titles don't match the ones you listed here, so the text must have been revised or rewritten. I have not started to work seriously with the course yet, but I've used the New French with Ease in English-French and it's helpful.
The Italian Assimil program was a little difficult to find online for a good price. I had to search a lot but I finally found it for about 40 dollars.

I also have that edition. Since we don't speak french, its of course useless to us. Perhaps we could use it for reading practice later on. If you look on the Assimil site, you will see the Italian course they offer English speakers. It has 105 lessons, so I suspect its at least a little different than the one we have, which has 100 lessons.

Thanks for the help everyone. Looks like the one I have is only in French, never mind. I can't read French, so I will have to buy the complete set for the slightly older version.

The "80s" version and the "00s" version are completely different books, the 80s is available in English but the 00s not yet. But actually the 80s book is much much better, the 00s is just to basic.

It's shocking how so many people who don't speak French end up with French editions of Assimil courses. Coincidentally, most of the illegal copies of Assimil that are floating around on the internet tend to be of the French base variety.
Very curious coincidence, indeed. ;)

How about the older 'Italian Without Toil'? This couse is about 60 years old and I would worry that i would sound like someone from the past. Has anyone used this course and found that it is very out dated? Or do fundamental basics not change that much over 60 years?
