Día 4/60
0,5 hora LR L2-L2 Harry Potter y la Piedra filosofal
Total1: 6 horas
Total2: 56 horas
Getting a little frustrated by the fact that all the stuff I ordered still isn't here. Reading through HP1 for the sixth time isn't that exiting anymore. Combined with the fact that my last exam will be Thursday, I decided to skip my serious Spanish studies until Wednesday. That way, I can again concentrate fully on Spanish and not have that nagging feeling that I should be doing something more pressing, such as learning for my last exam (advanced linear algebra..:( ).
What I will do however, is maby watch a movie dubbed in Spanish today. So that way, I won't totally stop for the next few days.
Do the hours that I watch the movie still count towards my goal, or shouldn't I count them. I ask this, because I read that most of the time, people need about 600 hours to get to an advanced stage in Spanish. But my guess is, that if I watch many many movies in Spanish, I will need more than 600 hours, as it just isn't that useful.
So I hope to get some response from someone who found that watching Spanish movies really helps your learning Spanish.

I would say it depends on whether you are counting your listening reading as a stand
alone experiment or whether you are documenting your overall Spanish learning. Myself, I
wouldn't count watching films.
Also, just a small thing I've noticed whilst reading through your interesting log: You
appear to write 'maby' when you mean 'maybe'.

I kept on wondering why I got a dotted line underneath my maby everytime, but maybe wasn't in the suggestions..:P Maby didn't feel that good, but couldn't figure out my mistake. There you go!
Tomorrow morning my (hopefully) last exam. Then I can once again really concentrate on Spanish.
I will not count watching films towards my total Spanish learning or my LR experiment.

Finally, my coursework for this year is done. Passed everything, about half with distinction, so it was a good year. Now, VACATION!
Also, Assimil came in today. Did Lección 1 and 2 today. What I did was the following:
First I listened/shadowed the audio about 5 times (takes about 5 minutes).
Listen to the audio again while reading the Spanish.
Compare the English with the Spanish in order to fully understand what is been said/written in Spanish.
Listen to the audio again while now knowing exactly (hopefully) what is being said.
Do the exercises.
Listen to the audio again.
All in all, it takes about 30 minutes to do this for a single lección.
Hence:
Día 8/60
1 hora Assimil Passive, lección 1,2
Total 1: 7 horas
Total 2: 57 horas
I have a lot of catching up to do if I want to get to something like 2-2.5 hours average over these 60 days. I am not worried about this however, as I think that combining Assimil and LR together these 60 days will easily get me to the amount of hours I want to get.
On a side note, el Prisionero de Azkaban came into the mail today also. So for the reading part the plan is as follows. First, I will complete my L2-L2 run trough of HP1, then I will do a L2-L2 run trough of HP2. These are the only books I have LR L1-L2 before, hence now I do them L2-L2.
After these two books, I will LR L1-L2 HP3, then L2-L2 HP3, then L1-L2 HP4, then L2-L2 HP4. This should get me pretty much through these 60 days!
So hopefully, in about 52 days, I have completed most of Assimil Spanish With Ease, and finished up HP1-4 both L2-L2 and L1-L2! Good times!

Wow, thats great! Are you going to keep a log as well? I find it to be really helpful and motivating.
My audiolibros are sort of not totally legal.. ;) The price of them is just too much to buy legal, and since I don't want to LR only with my computer, I really wanted to have the audio on my Iphone.
If you have any questions or anything, just ask or PM me!
Good luck, it is a great method!

Día 9/60
1,5 horas Assimil lección 3,4,5
1 hora Michel Thomas CD 1
1 hora LR L2-L2 Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal
Total 1: 10,5 horas
Total 2: 60,5 horas
It was a good day today. First, I started of with Assimil. My plan is to complete 3 leccións every day. This should take me about 1,5 hours. If I for example only need 75 minutes to complete these lessons, I spend the last 15 minutes on reviewing old lessons. Today, I only needed 75 minutes for lesson 3-5, so spend 15 minutes on reviewing lesson 1-5 a few hours after I completed the 75 minutes.
I also decided to throw in Michel Thomas. A good way to review some of the grammar I will encounter in Assimil, plus it only takes about 10 hours in total. So for now, I do about one CD each day, until I complete Michel Thomas Basic. Maybe do Michel Thomas Advanced after that, but I don't have that one yet.
To complete my study for the day, I did one hour of L2-L2 HP1. It was nice to see the words I just learned and used in Assimil come back in this hour of LR. Good way to reinforce what I learn even more!
