For the Japanese books, if you live near a Kinokuniya bookstore try them before Amazon.
There prices for these books, at least in the US, are about 10 dollars lower.

There is also the classic 'Comprehensive French Grammar' by Blackwell. It has been revised several times and was the standard grammar we had to have when I was an undergraduate at university.
