Since 1999, Portugal has two official languages. I read this article in the NYT by Seth Kugel about his recent journey to the northeastern region of Portugal where the language is spoken: In Portugal, Mirandese Spoken Here — and Only Here. For those of you interested it's a quick read. Be sure to check out the slide show for some written examples of Mirandês.
