Well I'm halfway through the book "Colloquial Chinese". It's going fine, but would be going faster if I would practise the vocab more intensively. I'm SRSing it so in the long term that's good but I do need to study it harder and more in the short term.

Writing it out a lot works for me. But I am not writing it out because:
a) I used to write by hand but now that is awkward due to not needing to write very often (!)
b) I have just tried writing by computer recently and it's OK, though it is new so it doesn't feel natural.
c) of course sometimes I am busy with other things
d) most importantly the words in the course are a little bit boring so I'm not that excited to learn them.

I think that covers everything!

I am continuing my listening and have been watching a good TV series from Taiwan called 命中注定我愛你 [Mìng zhòng zhù dìng wǒ ài nǐ] ("Fated to Love You"). It's only entertainment but I like it.

Also I have somewhat abandoned learning the Hanzi so as to learn faster. Ironically since I started doing that I have learned very little!

I am much better at the tone drill here:

and I'm trying the two syllable drill (sound quality not good but I don't know of any others)

That's all, I hope you are doing well!

PS is this the correct way to do the log? It's either click "add new entry" as I did, or keep replying to my original log...

Actually I'm wondering why you have two different Mandarin logs which were started this month.

OK so it looks like I thought I was "Writing a New Log Entry" but I was actually "Writing a New Log"! Hmmm.

In that case I know what to do, thanks!
