I made flashcards when I was using Pimsleur.
If you look at his algorithm from his original paper, the spacing between repetition of a word is 5 seconds, 25 seconds, 2 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 5 hours, 1 day, 5 days, 25 days, 4 months. To me, the gap between 1 day and 5 days is large, and 5 to 25 way too long.
So I found that less-common words are never heard again (given that 30 lessons takes 30 days). If you learn a less-common word in lesson 20, you'll hear it regularly until lesson 25, once more at lesson 50, that's it. Didn't work so well for me, so I made flashcards and reviewed more regularly than that.
