I am using "Learn Filipino" by Victor Romero and on the CD, he goes over pronunciation of malumi words.
From the book:
"As in malumay, emphasis in malumi words is on the semifinal syllable. The difference is the glottal stop; stop the vowel sound short in the throat. It's like saying "uh-oh." The first syllable is stopped short in the throat."
When I listen to the CD that came with the book, I don't hear the glottal stop on the semifinal syllable.
I guess I'm wondering if anyone knows any good audio somewhere else that demonstrates the glottal stop, unless it's just barely audible.

Without the glottal stop, the syllables will merge together.
A possible thing to do is to understand 'em as pauses.
