Hi everybody!
I've uploaded a short sound file of myself speaking Spanish, and I'd really appreciate it if anybody could give me
feedback. (It's just a fable.)
http://www.zshare.net/audio/62553140799f1fa7/
Please, be brutally honest! I'm looking for any comments or suggestion that you think would be helpful, whether
you're a native speaker or not. In particular, I'd like to know
1. Based on my accent, where would you think I'm from?
2. Is there any native Spanish accent that you think I'm closest to? (I'm not actually trying for any accent in
particular, but I'd like to know if I sound similar to one so maybe I could pursue that.)
3. What do I need work on?
Anyways, thanks alot for any help that you can give me. I really appreciate it!
(PS--Sorry if it doesn't work. I'm kind of still figuring out this uploading stuff! So if you can't get it to
download, please let me know, and I'll try to fix it.)
(PPS--If, in return, you would like me to evaluate or help you with your accent, just let me know. I love doing
that sort of thing!)
EDIT: Here's a link that will hopefully work!

Very good overall. As for the accent, I don't associate it with any particular Spanish-speaking country or region, but rather reminds me of the way it is spoken in the United States.
But I don't travel, so my opinion is derived from limited knowledge. Perhaps someone else with greater travel experience could comment further?

Well, first at all, I don't think that the reading of a short paragraph is enough to tell the kind of things you want to know. It would be necessary a longer passage and maybe some spontaneous talk. That said, your pronunciation is really impressive. I can hardly hear any trace of a non native accent. You sound just Latin American to me.
The only weird thing is the way you say 'desafiaron'. I'm used to hearing the 'ia' in it as a hiatus, but I know that whether you do a diphthong or not, sometimes depends on the dialect you speak, so I couldn't tell if your pronunciation is wrong or just regional.

Thanks for the feedback everybody!
JuanM,
Is there anything in particular about my accent that makes you think of the US or is it just a general overall
thing?
gbarv,
Thanks for the tip. I will definitely start working on my intonation! May I ask what country you are from?
Javi,
I was thinking that maybe my clip was too short, but I didn't want to bore people with a really long one! Next
time I will take your advice and record something longer. And I will work on my pronunciation of "desafiaron".
Thanks again everybody!!
