Black and white are my favourite colours as far as Internet fora go. I must agree with you. You can't expect me to paint a rainbow here. |

Fair enough. Bye the way, thanks for the 1984 eng/fra parallel text. It's been a gem.

Thanks for all the info.
I read in a massively long thread that you *must* enjoy the text you're using. Well, I seriously dislike Harry Potter. Why is it necessary to like it?
Thanks

Well, if you don't enjoy what you are doing your motivation will quickly disappear. On top of that we are much better learners when we are in playful/positive mindset.

If you don't like Harry Potter, then chose something else that you would like to read. There are so many books in the world, that you really don't have to read anything you don't like.
It read Harry Potter 2+3, and it worked quite well for me. I also have those books in my native language, but I just consulted those, when I did not understand a paragraph or something to find out what was going on. But I chose Harry Potter because I wanted to read anyway. I don't feel like reading a book that does not interest me, just because it is in a language that I want to learn.

ahahahahaha!!! She's not to my tastes unfortunately fella (and no, neither is Ron). I see why you must enjoy it now though, so I suppose I'll just have to stick with the Assimil text until I find an audiobook I actually do enjoy.
Thanks all.
