You dislike Harry Potter?! In the real world, I'd be obligated to give you a hard time haha :) Though if Harry, Hermione, & Ron don't suit you, what about Oliver Wood, Malfoy, or one of the other Weasleys'?
But since HP is not for you, definitely go for something else. If you're working through a book you despise, you won't get very far.

My friend has it (but she let me borrow it), and it seems complete too. I have the Italian book version in Pdf as well as the English one.

well, I have plenty of books which I don't read anymore. (they remind me my childhood)
Aside my Tom Clancy's book *coughing*, other stuff is quite simple to read. (I don't mind to record some phrases from those books for improving your pronounciation) May I list them ?
